Well, Sachi Vixen did it yet again. Last night she released four more makeups in the Mei Li skin line. I don’t know what rock I was hiding under, but I missed the original release of Mei Li (and Amanda, actually – another beautiful skin). These four makeups are a special package – all four makeups with 8 options each (see my previous post on Sasha for an explanation) in one tone, plus a manicure and pedicure to match each makeup, as well as a pubic hair option on the underpants layer — all for L00. A bargain that is (channeling Yoda, sorry).

I’m wearing the hairbase with cleavage option in all makeups above, and they are, from left to right, Hai, Idol, Otaku, and Yaoi. I am not showing the body of these skins because they are essentially the same as Sasha’s, which I posted earlier. View full article »

Over the years there have been many reasons to visit the store, or run into the Designer and her items that I am featuring today. The first time I landed there was because of something I read, the second time was because of Pirate boots and not only did I walk out with those, but also some Yeti ones as well – goes to find them to put them on, they should keep me warm. You know I have to be honest, I didn’t know who Frank Lloyd Wright was before Second Life. It’s not that we don’t have influences of his in Australia, I mean we must. But not until Second Life did I ever really consider where those influences came from, or for that matter in how high regard a man such as he was; was held.

I am probably very underdressed for a field trip of this nature, but that is the other joy and learning experience that Second Life allows us, don’t judge a book by it’s cover, actually; just don’t judge.

Imagine what he could have done in Second Life had he lived to see it, but he is actually not only immortalised here by the place I visited today, but because of the NEW FLW Museum I actually learned that one of our esteemed Designers names ‘Fallingwater’ of Shinythings, is the name of one of his more famous builds. I wonder if she is a fan too and that’s why the name ?, the irony is that her last name is Cellardoor and from what I read, he actually got rid of most basements and attics that were in usual American architecture, now I need to know if Fallingwater actually had a cellar …argh – someone has to let me know. rQ is out with a new skin called Lust. The lips are as always to die for and the makeups are edgy in blue tones. When you buy 1 skin you get 8 different versions including dark and light eyebrow options, hairbase and tattoo options for both light and dark brows. The tattoo is a really cute flower on the back that hasnt quite healed yet, and perfect for when you wanna wear several clothes layers but still want a tattoo. Its a really awesome looking skin with very original fantasy inspired makeups. I wish more skinmakers would include tattoo and different brow options. It just looks so much better when your brows match your hair color. The following pictures are my favorite Lust makeups.

I’ve been trying my best to pin down Fade Dana’s design aesthetic. I showed my husband these pictures this morning and said, “Is it WWII pinup villain, like Irina Spalko from Kingdom of the Crystal Skull?” “Nah,” said Dave, “It’s more pulp Martian.” I think I’ll narrow the style down to Ray Bradbury’s Martian Chronicles, mixed up with a bit of Bettie Page. Edit: D’oh. The helmet is called Octopussy, so I’m clearly a Bond girl.

I’m impressed. This is eating my head, yet it’s still sexy. It’s the Octopussy helmet in green, and I’m wearing it with the zip-up frogsuit from Fade’s Amphibiac outfit. I think that the perfect skin for this comes from MiaSnow — bright lips against a nice gold skintone for that otherworldly look. View full article »

The other night you may have been alerted as I was by Wrenja to this fabulous MM prize at Steambound. The picture on the MM looked good but I really fell in love when I put it on. I’m not a huge gown person but I added a pic with the skirt for those of you who are.
