Acquisitive

As I posted here on the official +++BLUE BLOOD SL FASHION+++ blog, Ghanima has returned to SL after a short RL hiatus bearing a beautiful new creation for her fans.  And she has really outdone herself this time, too.  The colors are richer, the shading more realistic, the textures are more complex, and the sculpts are just perfect.  As I mentioned earlier, I just couldn’t stop staring at the sleeves. And if that isn’t enough, Ghani has given us a motif of *bunnehs*!  Yes, bunnehs are all the rage, aren’t they?  Everyone is breeding them and buying fancy little hutches and gardens for them.  Well, Ghani has used them as the motif for the fabric, but it’s subtle.  I’ll bet you wouldn’t even have noticed if I hadn’t told you.  Ok, enough chatter.  On with the photographic evidence.  I have lots to show you, so if the post gets cut short, please visit my blog to see more.

Above is one of the dark goth colors – purple.  It also comes in dark goth black, gold, red, and teal, with gold as a group only color.  Astrid’s top comes on all possible layers for maximum mixing and matching.  Show above are the full outfit including the jacket and jacket prims, cuffs, sleeves, belt, and collar, as well as a stripped version with only the shirt/corset on the top layer.  Want more?  Lookee!

Astrid also comes with an sculpted belt which attaches under the breasts in a Japanese kimono way.  Very interesting.  You can see it best in the next photos.

As much as I love the dark colors, I think I love the whitegoth colors of Astrid even more.  I had to show you the pink version, which I think is more red, but that’s just semantics, right?  A rose by any other name…. etc.  Astrid also comes in whitegoth blue, purple, and white, plus the group-only gold.

Like the poses?  I love them!  Oh please, Penny Dreadful Arcade, don’t close!  More, I *must* show you more of Astrid!

Kat called us with some just-released, hot-off-the-press new sculpted boots, so we pounced – remember, you saw them here first

They’re calf-boots, with a nice clean shape and good heel out of the box.

They look typically eighties-styled to me, but that’s just mama Deirdre’s grey hair peeking out under the blonde Sirena.

Good heels, a nice shape with a wide-ish toe box that lelo loves (more than I do) and a great leather texture.. tuck some jeans in those, hop on a motorcycle, and you’re all set.

These boots will keep you busy for years, yes you read that right years.

First things first though, the boots have an amazingly good shape and the texture really works great on these.

The next thing are the heels, the boot comes with 4 quick change heels, from a wedge to the shown stiletto’s and there is a more clunky style heel.

It gets interesting when you select the textures, 22 in all to choose from.

But if you think that’s where the color fun ends you are wrong, very wrong indeed.

The boots come with a HUD color selector very much like the one you might know from building in SL.

This gives you endless color combinations, with separate colors for the boot, the sole and the heels.

Ohh and one more nice little thing, they are copy so you can make as many color combinations as you like and add them to the outfits of your choose.

I adore a good textile pattern in SL, so these new Olive sweater dresses from Ducknipple had me frothing at the ads.  They come in a variety of stripes and colors, so you should definitely check them out.  I love Ducknipple for their lovely textures, and for their prim clothing and accessories that always fit me perfectly right out of the box.   Belts, especially,  take a good bit of fiddling of linked prims on my part before I can wear them, but what you see here was edited not one bit.

This dress immediately reminded me of the ubiquitous, beloved Old Boots from Shiny Things.  I marvel that with all the advancements in sculpts we have now, these boots can still hold their own and hold it well.  How many other pairs of shoes from years ago would still look good today?

Also take note – fabulous new skins from Nomine!  The Mosaic line is a departure from what I’m used to from Nomine,  as they bring a touch more smooth realism.   I personally love both styles, but get a hankering for each at different times.  And of course these skins come in the Nomine skin tones and makeups that you know and love – including some previously Limited Edition makeups!  I’m particularly in love with the lips; just look at how soft and plump they are.

Style Genesis

Yes I am doing another look of the day post. This time it all started with the skin. I loved the blend of orange and yellow around the eyes.

The I started throwing on clothes and ended up in black and white. It seemed a little plain to me so I went out and bought a scarf. I sat there staring at myself for a long time because it felt like it needed something else to finish it off. The it hit me! I needed a purse. Now I went to plurk to get ideas on where to go. Of course this caused an uproar because I have some friends who are very anti-purse in SL. I bet bet they are secretly have a purse fetish in RL. Anyway this is the finished look…..

Acquisitive

Paradisis makes some of the hottest, sexiest clothes.  I can’t believe I’ve only recently discovered the store since it’s been around for quite some time.  The tops I’m showing you today were released over a week ago, but RL seriously kicked my ass last week and I didn’t get a chance to even log inworld some days. Grrrrrr.  So, better late than never is my mantra. Check out “Dangerous” – and yes, this is one dangerous little top.  Ooh la la… steamy!

The top consists of a “bra” (it’s the little scrap of lace above the corset), corset, and gloves.  The two pieces of the top come on all layers so if you want to be even more daring, you can wear the corset without the ‘bra.”  I love the little zippers in various states of closure on the corset and gloves.  The little white bow on the lace bra is nice, girly touch.  The pink “Pudding Jeans” worn above are also by Paradisis – I love the little prim ties on the sides and back.  Dangerous comes in five colors – black (shown above), cream, violet, red, and pink (all shown below).

Do you recognize the boots in the first picture??  I finally broke down and got my own pair of Gospel’s gorgeous DARE booties.  *swoons in delight*  The poses I’m using were also a recent acquisition from Penny Dreadful Arcade’s closing sale.  OMG!  Why are they closing??? I *love* these poses!  Don’t close, don’t close!  The gorgeous statement necklace is by Ganked, of course.  It’s the Relay for Life donation item at the Accessories Fair.  I hope they make matching earrings and bracelets for this necklace soon.  I think it’s my favorite piece so far.  Finally, the hair is a group gift from booN, which has several group gifts and one free for anyone gift at the store now.  Ok.. you may now go back to being sexy and fabulous.

Sorta Sexy

Theres something about that late 80’s early 90’s prom feeling.  Maybe it’s because these are the dresses I played dress up in as a kid.  I remember having a slightly less sheer version of this, in pink… I rocked that thing like no other 7 year old, believe you me.

So last night, Seedy, Kat, Alivia, and I decided to have an “I’m on SL and the Oscar’s don’t matter” Party.  Seedy took us whoring in our sexy best, and this is what I put together for the shindig.

Grabbed this dress at Acid & Mala, with cute sheer poofs across the chest and around the arms, it’s the perfect flair.  Paired with some MIEL jewels and LeLutka bracelets.  Truth hair, and Maitreya stilettos… I get to play dress up again!  MANY years later!
