I’m still giving this hunt thing a try, so far I have no idea if anyone has actually made it to my store from the Shoes and Accessories Hunt (good ol’ #150), so I’m bringing my experimenting with hunts to a different approach, which is the small and intimate hunt with a very strong theme.

Morgaine Price’s modest hunt with around 30 designers is more up my alley, and is heavily fantasy themed. Most of the designers create fantasy clothing for women, and include folks like Deviance and Wishbox. And myself, of course!

In keeping with the theme of fantasy and romance, my offering for the hunt is the Amorno mask:
A sweet, feminine valentines-appropriate visage, this mask can be found inside a red rose hidden somewhere in my store. I apologize to the guys for such a girly offering, but it’s an extremely girly hunt! You grabbed the horns from that other hunt, right?

Well, the Cupid Heart Hunt has got the Valentine’s holiday spirit off to a fabulous start! 27 amazing shops, all with super generous gifts – some with more than just one! And omg the cuteness! There’s everything from dresses to houseplants, as well as lots of stuff for guys! Plus, it’s really pretty challenging. I managed it in a couple of hours, but still haven’t found everything. So grab a few friends, or make friends along the way. Heck, it is Valentine’s afterall… The starting point is HERE, and you follow along just like a traditional gridwide. Okay, let’s talk fashion, cause there’s a buttload and a half in this post (and, I promise, it’s not even scratching the surface of all that you’ll find in the hunt)! The dress in the top picture is from Deviant Girls. The eyes are from Umedama Holic and they come with animated prim tears. The box is the latest release from Agent Orange, called the Breakup Box and it’s way too clever.

The second picture has a shot of the MIU dress, the R2 shoes, the group gift handbag from Pacadi, the full ensemble from Mocha, the cropped jacket from MNK Shop & the skirt from Oyakin. You can even see one of the chocolates from Spica, one of the love letters from Atelier AM, and the glasses from NALA, that come with rosy prim cheeks.

Last, but not least, is the avatar from Niyari. It’s so freaking adorable, you can guarantee you’ll be seeing your fair share of these around the grid before Valentine’s is over. Is it wrong that I want to nom myself?

Le Cirque Special Skin

She’s done it again! AtomicSparkle blows me away every time.  Her skins are cute and chic, not overdone or too high fashion.  I <3 them!  So, I’ve decided to do a special on her new releases, starting with the Le Cirque APPLE Pale Edition – A special skin made for her store move to the Le Cirque Sim.  I’m quite frightened of clowns in actuality, so for me to don a skin like this must mean I’m thoroughly impressed by it!

Let’s take a look at the true gem of her collection, the newly released APPLE skin line:

Sunblush Shade – Dark Brows

With four makeup options, (top to bottom, left to right) Juicy, Ocean, Pure, Siren… it’s an incredibly flexible skin for any look. Cute, sultry, adorable, fiery… you can’t fail.  The makeups all come with both a freckled/not freckled version, a glossy lips/matte lips version, and 3 shades of eyebrows – dark, light, red… along with combinations there of.  Take a look at the freckles comparison:

You can also see the difference between the lips (gloss vs not) in the photos above.

As far as the body goes, It is fair to say, the shading is simpler than some skins out there… but to me, that is not at all a bad thing!  I find that some skin makers get happy with the burn tool, AtomicBambi does not do this at all.  Upon close inspection, not a single seam was found.  The pubic area is fairly sprinkled with hair, and not baby bare, another thing I like.  Have a look yourself:

All in all I give this skin line a big two thumbs up!  I absolutely love it and will definitely be wearing it more in the future.

Pearly Girly

About time for some color!  A pink treat.  I’ll make this to the point, short and sweet.

I saw definite potential in this hoodie from Reek the moment I laid my little cyber eyes on it.  And when I got this dress from *Crazy*, the image just flew together.  I grabbed these tights, from !Ohmai, the white ones are… get this… Free!  Other ones come in sets of 5 colors for 150, I grabbed a couple sets too!  Paired with the knit boots from Surf Co, one of my favorite of Emma’s creations… I think the woven look becomes complete.  The hood, is a separate piece, made as a combined effort between Reek and Tiny Bird… I love it.  Though the hoodie does come with non hair hoods, for those doods, or picky chicks out there.  Also, it is HUD operated, letting you customize it with the patterns, colors, and prints of your liking.  Tossed on some knit mittens also from reek, Atelier pearls,  and these nomnom pearls from Urbanity, and the look is pearly, and girly, and ready to go.

if life is a dream, then second life is probably more a hallucination or delerium. it was very hard for me at first to describe this dream-like quality in second life properly, but my dear friend magenta bleac, who is australian, told me a little of the concept of the dreaming, or the dreamtime. i know it does not have the same connotation or the exact same meaning but i find the term “the dreaming” to give a good sense of what i encounter daily in second life.

the most fascinating thing for me is that like a dream, second life lets people create these amazing environments, completely free of all the pesky constraints in real life, like gravity, etc.  and when i visit some of these places i very often feel as if i am stumbling into someone’s dream.  this is very much the case with the sim known as 03.  it consists of a gorgeous desolate desert at ground level, with a kind of arena, like ancient ruins, and also a huge chain that tethers a floating object high above.  if you ascend to the floating island, you will find an improbably beautiful scene of a snowy wood and a little cottage.  in all it is splendidly beautiful.

as usual it was a kind of happy accident that i seemed to be wearing something that matched up very well with my surroundings. i have an unabashed love of i love 13, and this is one of their new releases, the moon dress (night). i am a great fan of that new look i see emerging, a kind of wispy broken doll gothy look, that seems to be a kind of merging of goth loli, and regular goth, and horror, and god knows what. the leading designers in this style seem to be i love 13, violent seduction, rotten toe, and aura falta of tacky star. the hair is from W&Y, which is now my new hair obsession.  the skin is from rotten toe, and i’d like to mention it as it is very much one of my favorites, being a dollskin but one that is decayed, and comes with three distinct stages of rottenness, and also a set of pus eyes, though i am wearing the gazing ball eyes from miasnow.
