Hey, everyone.  I thought I had posted this piece hours ago, but I just discovered it in my drafts folder.  *blinks*  Anyway….

I’m sure most of you have heard about the misfortunes of our beloved Ikaru Aichi of Violent Seduction.  Ikura has been banned by Linden Lab for allegedly copybotting.  What appears to have happened is that  Ikaru reported another avatar for copybotting some of Ikaru’s sculpts, and this other avatar reported Ikaru in retaliation.  The injustice of this situation is that this other avatar has not been banned, but Ikaru has.  sigh.  Anyone who is familiar with the quality of Ikaru’s work will find it as hard to believe as I do that she would ever copybot anyone else’s work.  Why copybot when you can produce textures and sculpts superior to most of what’s in SL yourself??  You can read about the situation directly from Ikaru herself on her blog here.

Because Ikaru’s account is frozen, including all of her lindens, the recently launched Bad Blood sim needs a bit of help paying the upcoming tier.  In response, Aura of Tacky Star has stepped up and is having a 50% off sale throughout her store.  She’s also released a new skin in three tones.  Take a look.

This is the Plain Jane skin which comes in three tones – goth, pale (worn above), and tan.  I’m wearing an awesome coat I found at a small store named “Squeek!” which is located on the Bad Blood sim.  The coat comes with long or short sleeves, long or short tailcoats, and bloody or non-bloody.  That’s four coats for one low price!  I’m wearing the long sleeved, long coat, non-bloody version above.  Did you notice my horns?  OMG.  I found this awesome store that is closing (sad face) named House of  Ruin.  It specializes in unusual eyes and horns.  These just spoke to me (“Buy me Desiree… I’m on sale so cheap…. you know you want me.”)  You get a bunch of colors for like L with multiple attachment points.  You’ll see more of these in my next post, for sure.

Ok.. back to the Tacky Star skin and awesome coat.  Here’s another composite showing the short-sleeved, bloody, short coat.

I’m wearing the goth tone of the Plain Jane skin above, along with Putrid Gloom’s Tippytoe Ponyboots.  She has a satellite store for Show Me on the Doll  on Bad Blood as well.  The hair is part of the jumbo huge enormous fatpack of hair that Posh is giving away at The Rumor.  Grab your alts – you know they need hair, plus they’re probably feeling lonely coz you rarely take them out to play.

One last photo – this is the tan tone of Plain Jane, which is just a bit darker.

A new development from Kayliwulf, the Universal Implant Applicator takes a bit of explanation.

It’s not precisely a product you’ll buy separately at KK.

Rather, if you use Implant Nation’s large breasts, you will now be able to add Kayliwulf textures to them, and wear them with your favorite latex outfits.

The textures are also compatible with eCorp!’s eboobs – slurls at the end of the post, as usual.

Kayliwulf latex textures for the Applicator are the brainchild of faithful KK employee (and our good friend) Candi Ragu.

She listened to customer feedback and made the suggestion to Lazarus, who launched in his usual frenzy of creation

Expect to see the “Includes Universal Implant Applicator” logo on more and more of Kayliwulf’s outfits in the near future.

The first two leave loads of bare skin so you better work on getting your skin tone just right. *smiles*

Applying the texture couldn’t be easier, just wear your Universal Implants and when they have initialized wear the applicator.

Ohh make sure your breast aren’t naked, the applicator only works when you are dressed.

Laz spent some extra time to make the wrinkles on the top just right.. did we ever tell you that we suspect he’s a bit of a breasts man?

Lifestyles of the Broke and Notorious

The product of the people’s sins will be their undoing…

After a bit of a delay, the capture and assembly of the second series in the story is finished. In addition to the distractions aforementioned, this set took some time because of the number of possibilities and their accompanying decisions- how many characters can or should I show? How should I alter between the characters and settings to display progression? Should I have other avatars in the background to add to the environment, and if so, how the heck do I get them all their at the same time, let alone positioned correctly? In the end, I worked with what was time efficient and not overly complex in order to portray the message, despite envisioning the segment differently. For me, this is a good lesson in how information and ideas may change across mediums.

Though he made haste in pursuing his new mission from the Father, the old crusader encountered no trouble in locating would-be messengers: orphans lined the alleyways and gutters underneath the glowing city, feeding on garbage and living in buildings abandoned for being too ‘out of style’. Few survived, and those that did ended up contributing to the cycle of misery.

Children found to be strong and able were thrown into slave labor. With no one to claim them, no one protected them as they felt the sting of hands, whips, and whatever else their masters thought appropriate. Those reared in this environment turned bitter and cold, reenacting the punishment dealt to them on the next generation of young workers.

Youth found too weak – or uncommonly handsome – find themselves at the mercy of leches and pimps. Knowing no other way to work and never building the confidence to seek other ways of life, these individuals remain in the trade of lust until they are completely battered, broken, and thrown away.

And yet, despite the prowling foremen and madams…

…there are those that manage to evade the clutches of society.

It is to these rebels, these true ‘Lost Boys’, that the Old Crusader speaks to and offers a choice: to fore go what it entails to be human and embody the will of the Lord. In exchange for a shelter and sustenance for their mortal forms, they would train to become the actors of the greater message.

To this, they agreed. For their young minds, it was a grand opportunity to control their lives and create change in their world. After living so long in agonizing squalor, they didn’t even contemplate the idea of refusal. The holy warrior rapidly collected a small, but eager army of bodies, apt to learn and act. Finally, the aged man felt like he was with the Lord’s favor…

…especially when he found her. She would be the first and only girl he would find amongst the rubble of debauchery, and he would see to it that she would be the greatest consequence.

Believe it or not, all of the pieces to these outfits for the two orphans were already in my inventory (save for the muddy feet). To be honest, making the shapes was the easy part; I had a hell of a time finding just the right accessories to make them look poverty-stricken without looking like zombies. I would almost say it was harder than making the prim baby, but I won’t put money down on it. Otherwise, I found myself feeling bad for my little boy avatars, particularly the second one, and I had to fight off the urge to make them look happier.

For those of you waiting for the ‘harlequin’ element of the story, the next segment will feature the transition. Once more, the challenge for me will be figuring out exactly how I want to present what is bouncing about my brain.

There’s an event on at the moment by the .44 Calibre team, named Potter’s Field. The theme is mourning, and there are skins, poses and clothes all carefully created around this. You’ll have seen various gowns and makeups from this all over the feeds, and they are GREAT. I’m pleased to mention that there are also some wonderous male outfits as well.

The build is also hauntingly dark and evocative, and I took all my pics for this post there. I don’t have an end date for the event – I was really disorganised, and forgot to put my name down for the info pack, sorry Noirran! I know you tried! – but it’s well worth a visit. Both to see what some of SL’s best creative minds have wrapped lovingly around the mourning concept, but also to admire the beauty in the Potter’s Field build.

So, this has to be my favorite.  I love the pattern and colors Ivey has used on the Marie Corset dresses, and the little sculpted skirt is so cute.  The Flirty Dauphine Socks go really well and are uber-cute with their big sock  bunches and fat bows, both of which are color-change via touch.  Go nuts mixin’ and matchin’!  They come in Baby Blue, Beige, Black, Blue, Green, Pink, Purple, Red, Teal, White, Wine, and Yellow – all in one pack.  I’m also wearing some uber-cute (and also free) hair from D!va – this is the lucky board limited edition color of Futaba.  The Marie Corset dress also comes in pink, blue, and purple.  Take a lookie.

I love these soooo much.  I’ll be wearing them for awhile.  The poses are cute, too – they’re from Flowey, which is having a retirement sale right now.  Don’t miss it!  Next, another corset dress, with a darker, more sophisticated vibe.

One of the most exciting days of Hair Fair has always been Bloggers Day – this year it will be 3rd September. Exciting for the committee because it is a test run for the event, and exciting for the designers as their new releases are revealed to people from all over the world. In the hopes that they will share their creations through blog posts with amazing pictures and delightful insights.

This year we are making sure that enough notice is given for bloggers from all over Second Life to apply for admission to that event. It is limited in numbers, because the sims themselves have avatar limits, and there are many hundreds of bloggers.

Priority will be given of course to bloggers that did a lot of posts on the event last year, as well as those that feature and give credit to hair in their posts all year round. The bloggers must also be regular bloggers, with visible posts crediting them as author.

All bloggers applying will have to provide a link to their blogs, as well as a minimum of three blog posts relating to either Hair Fair past, or Posts that they feel are focused towards hair – no editing of previous posts. Full Avatar name, as well as flickr link if you have one.

All applications are to be done in the comments of the post on the Hair Fair blog HERE , the comments are moderated, the info will not show to the public. ONLY the committee will see the applications, this is not meant to be a cattle call, but we do not want to miss out on anyone due to Second Life lag, and the possible misdirection of notecards.

I remember the days of the dual-posts with Mourna. I missed them, so when I dressed up all saturated in black today I looked through my friend list to see who might be as willing a victim as Miss Mourna was. Flea Markets are not for the faint of heart… you need to have an eye, to cut through all the flea junk and find those rare gems.  Luckily, the Pookie Flea Market is full of all WIN and no Fleas but the treasures there will only be available from July 23 to Aug 10.

Been a while since I did blonde elf, I forgot how sweet and innocent she appears, especially in the Helen skin from Amacci.  It has such a gentle fragility to it, very adorable.

Second Life Fetish Fashion Guide

When we visited Immerschoen, we were lucky enough to run into Gismo and Nici, who took a moment out of their busy schedule to show us around – that’s how you get a 9 on service, designers!

I’m wearing the latex Romper Suit in red, and lelo is wearing the latex Buckle Dress (yes, that’s the name) in black.

Once again, a big fetish store (they’ve been around 3 years!) that we discovered recently : while we were at a tiny mall, we saw an Immerschoen vendor, and I just had to visit the main store – lelo rightly pointed out that presence in malls is a form of advertising.

The store carries a very good variety of leather and latex, as well as a large men’s clothing section.

The Romper Suit, then, is shiny and detailed, with cool little folds that remind me of the best quality PVC.

Two layer versions, nice driving style gloves, short stockings to make a full foot (for shoes?), and a big tribal tattoo make this quite a versatile little outfit.

Hmm i guess something got lost in translation, but according to the label i’m wearing the Buckle Dress.

But then what’s in a name, the dress turns out to be a lovely catsuit.

You get 9 items in the package including: the pants in 2 layers and with an extra flared version i’m wearing in the pictures.

The top comes in 2 layers, shirt and jacket, and you get a tattoo in underwear and shirt layer as well.

Finally you’ll find a pair of gloves and socks in the package.

The quality is very good, i just love the realistic folds and stitching on the suit.

At these prices and with this level of detail we all should be wearing Immerschoen dresses. *winks*

Hello, goth lovers.  I’m on a mission.  That’s right, I said a mission – to expand your awareness of the variety of goth stores in our wonderful metaverse.  Do you only wear goth when it’s free or on sale?  Do you not “gaf” that many other avatars on the grid are wearing the same outfit as you?  or are you a hardcore goth who doesn’t mind spending a few lindens to look fantastic and unique?  If you’re the latter, then this post is for *you*!

Meet HellCat from AVid.  Do you know AVid?  It’s only been around for like 4 years!  Do you miss Crimson Shadow and its spooky, sexy castle?  Then you need to visit AVid.  I had a very nostalgic time wandering the corridors of its beautiful gothic castle and drooling over the high quality goth clothes there.  This is just one outfit I had to have.  I’ll show you more in posts to come.

So, what could be better than black leather, fishnets, fur collars and cuffs, and tattoos?  HellCat has it all.  The price may be steep, but you get so much for your lindens.  Above is just one of the options in the box.  You get a sexy belt, two collars – flat or fluffy (flat shown above), a dragon tattoo, gloves, jacket, two vests (one designed to wear with the jacket and the other designed to wear alone), two pairs of pants (cut and uncut), two white shirts (closed or open), fishnet stockings, a thong, and chunky, buckley shoes.  Just add fantastic skin and hair and you’re done!  Here is a composite showing some of the outfits you can put together. Do you need a guide map of the options above?  Ok – left to right – open white shirt with cut pants and fishnets; fishnets, belt, thong (the belt is sexy!); closed white shirt and jacket with fuzzy collar;  jacket with leather pants; closed white shirt option.  This outfit makes me feel sexy and *dangerous*!

I’ve worn Redgrave’s Trinity Daylight skin with this outfit.  This type of hybrid clothing (photorealistic and hand drawn textures) deserves a hybrid skin to complete the look.  Oh, everything at AVid is transfer, too, so what better way to show your appreciation to your goth loved ones than an outfit from AVid?  I’ll have to drag out Azrael to show you some of the men’s outfits.  I could spend hours drooling over the posters there.  Darwin makes some of the sexiest goth men’s clothes on the grid.  So, check out AVid, you’ll drool, I swear!
